Nimbus Film and the breadmaker Schulstad have both chosen to locate activities in Hvidovre - below you can find out why.

Nimbus Film is Denmark's third largest production company and one of the principal players behind the recent wave of Danish motion pictures that have enjoyed international success. Nimbus Film produces films for television and the big screen, and was behind recent successes such as "The Celebration" by Thomas Vinterberg and "Mifune's Last Song" by Søren Kragh-Jacobsen.

Nimbus Film was founded in 1993 and relocated to Avedørelejren in 1999. Nimbus Film moved into an old military barracks which the company extensively renovated. The CEO of Nimbus Film, Jørgen Ramskov, explains how the opportunity to move into functional and beautiful buildings at a reasonable price in one joint location motivated Nimbus Film and Zentropa to relocate to Hvidovre:

"We saw an opportunity to create a powerhouse for the Danish film industry. The municipality welcomed us and showed great willingness to cooperate, we received exceptional service from the local authorities and were offered good terms for taking over the barracks," says Jørgen Ramskov.

Schulstad is one of Denmark's most famous industrial bakeries and the largest producer of freshly baked bread. Schulstad produces bread and rolls and is today part of the international Lantmännen Corporation, the leading bread producer in the Nordic region.

Lantmännen Schulstad has been located in Avedøre Holme since 1993. The environmentally aware bread maker operates advanced production technology that includes the use of robots working round the clock. The employees continuously receive training and are offered other programmes aimed at improving their skills.

Lantmännen Schulstad is planning to expand its premises at Avedøre Holme during 2007. Avedøre Holme provides an ideal location since it allows for expansion, while the strategic location within the Øresund Region facilitates efficient distribution.
